Five years since they were discovered playing a gig in a Bedfordshire pub, Ben Earle and Crissie Rhodes are now raising the bar in Nashville. Indeed, thanks to their two gold-certified record-breaking albums, Brave and My Universe, The Shires have become one of the most talked about acts in the home of country music.

Considered one of the most successful British bands of the 1980’s – and with the recent re-issues of the bands vast catalogue on Universal Music, plus the ‘Collected’ series on CD and Vinyl – it is clear they continue to be a benchmark for British Jazz Funk at the highest level.

The Fisherman’s Friends

The original ‘buoy band’, currently the subject of the hit feel good movie of the year, first met on the Platt on the harbour in their native Port Isaac 30 years ago to sing the songs of the sea.
